Dr. E. Michael O’Bryan died Thursday, January 7th 2016 in his home in Slidell, 
Louisiana at the age of 65.

Dr. O’Bryan was born on November 22, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended LSU 
in Baton Rouge as an undergraduate and received his M.D. from LSU Medical 
School in New Orleans. Dr. O’Bryan completed a surgical residency at Charity 
Hospital in New Orleans and also completed a fellowship in surgery at the Lahey 
Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts. 
After 17 years of surgical practice in Slidell, Louisiana as a member of 
Northshore Surgical Affiliates, he returned to Tulane University and procured a 
Master’s in Healthcare Administration. 
He served as Chief Operating Officer and later Chief Executive Officer of 
Northshore Regional Medical Center. 
In 2006, he accepted a position at Ochsner Medical Center, West Bank as Chief 
Executive Officer and served in that capacity until his retirement in 2010.

Mike is survived by his daughter Katie O’Bryan, son Cooper O’Bryan, and beloved 
granddaughter Brooklyn Dimitri.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at 
HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460.

A memorial service will follow on Thursday, January 14th, at 11:00am. All are 
welcome to attend and celebrate Dr. O’Bryan 's life. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dr. O’Bryan’s name to the 
Louisiana State University Medical Alumni Association.
