She was born on May 5, 1921 in New Orleans, LA to the late Edward Webb Hawkins and Althea Ursula Fielding. Peggy was married to her beloved husband, the late Daniel Robert Rehm, for 58 years. She was the loving mother of Peggy Rehm Swords and Randy Robert Rehm. Peggy was the proud grandmother of Kelly Fielding Swords. She was the sister- in-law of Dale Deatheridge Hawkins, Merle Marks Rehm, and Karen Rehm Feldewert. Peggy moved to Houston, TX in 1965 but New Orleans was always home in her heart. She grew up on Harding Drive and continued to attend St. Joseph Academy Reunions until 2005. In New Orleans, Peggy worked for Flintkote and at the Bank of New Orleans and was active in St. Frances Cabrini Church and with her children’s activities. Later in Houston, she worked at Joske’s/Dillard’s Department Store until she retired. Peggy worked for many years as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She picked up her granddaughter Kelly from school every day and they went shopping and ate cookies from her favorite bakery. A devout Catholic, Peggy was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Community since 1965. Relatives and friends are invited to the FUNERAL MASS at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM. A WAKE will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. VISITATION on Thursday will be from 9:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow the Mass at Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. ===================
