Norma Rushing Sharp passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 surrounded by her 
family at home in Metairie, LA. 
She was born on March 28, 1934 in Covington, LA to the late James Monroe 
Rushing, Sr. and Agnes Gurgich Rushing.

Norma was married to her beloved husband, the late Royal Edgar Sharp, and 
together they had three children, Valerie Sharp St.Amant (Richard), Melanie 
Sharp- Kirby (William), and Morris “Marty” Sharp. She was the loving 
grandmother of Katheryn St.Amant, Hannah St.Amant, and Caroline St. Amant, and 
Selina Blanco-Sharp and proud great-grandmother of Kira Blanco-Sharp. 
Norma was the sister of James M. Rushing, Jr., the late Lloyd Rushing, Doris 
Sotille, Althea Palmisano, William E. Rushing, and Ollie Mae Richardson.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral 
Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 
12:00 Noon with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. 

Interment will follow the service at Sharp’s Chapel Cemetery, Covington, LA.
