Burns was married to his beloved wife, Jeanne Krueger Crotty, for 40 years. He was the devoted father of Burns McCashin Crotty III and Jeanne Crotty Arnold; the proud grandfather of Burns McCashin Crotty IV, Bryce Smith Crotty, and Logan Hugh Arnold; the loving uncle of Erin McCashin Ray, Kaitlin Mackenzie Ray, Jennifer Reitz Werner, and Paul Charles Krueger; and the brother of Deborah Crotty Ray. Born on November 12, 1946, in Midland, Texas, to the late Burns M. Crotty Sr. and Doreen Ruether Crotty, Burns moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, when he was 10. He grew up in Lafayette and later earned his undergraduate and dental degrees from Louisiana State University. Burns went on to practice dentistry in the greater New Orleans and Northshore area for more than 40 years. Burns was a man of God, and his love for his family and friends knew no bounds. Known for his compassionate and caring spirit, Burns always went out of his way to help people, whether he knew them or not. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time at the beach. Most of all, he loved gardening. When he wasn’t with family or friends, he could be found in his garden, where he felt peace and happiness doing what he loved. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 S. New Hampshire Street, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, February 12, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, Louisiana. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Burns’s memory be made to Christ Episcopal Church and St. Paul’s High School. ===================
