Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2016/st1602.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== William Wayne Gray, Jr, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the age of 65 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born October 16, 1950 in Crowley, La., to William and Daisy Kilmer Gray and was the brother of the late Johnny Gray and Tracy Gray. Wayne is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Kathy, his two children, Scott Gray(Laura) and Erin Gray(Nick), his sister-in-law and brother- in-law, Peggy and Jerry Dauterive, two nieces, a nephew, his great nieces and nephews, and also survived by his two pets, Macie and Cinda, whom he loved dearly. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and went on to earn a Business degree from Louisiana State University. He was able to travel the world during a successful career in the logistics industry before retiring early and becoming self-employed. He was an active member in the Slidell community, serving as a youth athletics coach for several years and then more recently volunteering for St. Margaret Mary church, including being an active member of the St. Margaret Mary’s Mens Club. He was also an active board member for Krewe de Paws of Olde Towne. Wayne enjoyed reading, especially Harry Potter, movies, traveling, celebrating holidays and most importantly to him, spending time with his wife and children. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.
