Lin was born in Starkville, MS on July 5, 1933 and was raised in Mobile, AL. She was a graduate of Mobile City Hospital NURSING SCHOOL, a resident of Slidell for 52 years, and a long time parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and served our Lord through many charitable organizations including Slidell Junior Auxiliary (founding member), Slidell Pregnancy Help Center and St. Tammany Right to Life. She was a dedicated member of many St. Genevieve ministries including St. Vincent DePaul Society, Prayer Chain, Prayer Shawl and Altar Society. She was the recipient of the Archdiocese of New Orleans CYO, the St Louis Medallion, and the St Tammany Right to Life Award for Life. Lin is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Cleo Palmer. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dr. James Sibley Holmes, her six children, James Sibley Holmes, Jr., Michelle Holmes Gorney (Chuck), Julie Holmes Campbell (Steve), Helene Holmes Tate (Kim), Colleen Holmes Neeley (Phil) and Charles Palmer Holmes, twelve grandchildren, a great grandson, and her sisters, Mary Palmer Holem and Charlotte Palmer Roper. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 58203 Hwy 433, Slidell, LA, with visitation from 9:00AM TO 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Genevieve's St. Vincent DePaul Society. ===================
