Beloved son of Barbara Ann Doll Ross and James Michael Ross, Sr. Loving brother of Amanda Marie Ross and James Michael Ross, Jr. and brother-in-law of Erin Adorno Ross. Beloved grandson of James E. and Shirley V. Ross and Chester J. and Corinne Marie Doll, who proceeded him in passing. Cherished nephew of Mark E. and Karin Berg Ross, Gwendolyn Doll, and Keith and Sara Doll. Cousin of Erin and Ian Ross, Douglas and Hugo Urrea, Jr., Faith Doll Thomas and Ellen Doll Fitch. Loving uncle to Emma Colleen and John Michael Ross. Jonathan was our “miracle baby”. We almost lost him before he was born and then he was 7-weeks premature and was only four-pounds at birth. We called him “peanut” because he was so tiny. At only 4 or 5 years old, Jonathan displayed uncanny athletic ability. He began playing baseball and we called him our “third base ace”. The proudest moments we had as parents were watching our boy play for the Mandeville Muckdogs baseball team and pitching them out of a jam or making spectacular plays at third base. Barbie and I would look at each other and say “how did he do that??” He thrived on competition and losing was not an option. When we moved to Alaska, Jonathan taught himself to snow ski (because snowboards went too slow). Within two years he was doing “big air” competitions, racing down double-black diamond slopes and out-skiing kids who had been on skis for years. Jonathan amazed us with everything he did on the baseball field and the ski slopes. Louisiana was always “home”, and recently he was working nearly full-time and going to community college in Baton Rouge. He was determined to make it on his own and stand on his own two feet. Jonathan always had a heart of gold. He loved children and animals. He was compassionate and giving to his friends…passionate about his beliefs…very well versed in everything from physics to politics. He charmed us with his bashful smile and made us laugh with his often unexpected humor. Jonathan shared a special bond of love with his mother who loved and cherished her little boy with all her heart and soul, and his dad will forever remember him as their “little peanut”. Most of all, he adored his sister Amanda and idolized his big brother, Michael. His grandmother, Shirley, said on the day he passed away “we were so lucky to have every minute we had with Jonathan”…and those words are so true. Jonathan has left us too soon and our hearts are broken, but our love for him will live forever. With God’s grace and mercy, we look forward together to the time when we are with him again. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jonathan’s life at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM with a gathering on Friday beginning at 1:00 PM. ===================
