He was born on July 11, 1928 in New Orleans, LA to the late Herbert Joseph Gassen and Elmire Mollere Gassen. Perryl was married to his beloved wife, the late Shirley LaBauve Gassen, for 54 years. He was the loving father of Mark J. Gassen (Melodie), Sherryl G. Owens (John), and Jill G. Guillory (Mitch). Perryl was the proud grandfather of Michelle and Matthew Gassen, Sean Owens, Justin Guillory, and the late Stephanie Strain. Perryl was the brother of the late Enid G. Dean (Earl). Perryl served as a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was an Eagle Scout and assistant scout master in St. Charles Parish. Perryl was a property developer in Luling, LA and was employed by the St. Charles Parish School Board as a school bus driver and drove Bus #28 for 31 years. Perryl was a member and past-president of the Banter Fraternity Social Club. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jay Saux, St. Joseph Hospice, and R & R Care Solutions, especially Leona and Lashandra. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment took place at Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in the name of Perryl J. Gassen to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. U. S.
