She was 86 years old. Inez was born on May 2, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was the oldest of three children born to Sandra and Rudolph Peterson. Inez received a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Minnesota. While attending the University she met Darwin Cedarleaf. This meeting led to 58 years of blissful marriage while raising their family of five children. Inez loved caring for her family, which included sewing surprise Easter and Christmas dresses for her three daughters and driving sports teams to all of her two son’s events. She created many family traditions like baking Christmas cookies, bar cookies for the 4th of July at the Lake and making quilts for her grandchildren for which she will always be remembered. Somehow, Inez managed to still find the time be a good friend as she shared life while sewing, gardening, bowling, golfing, camping and singing in the church choir. Even in the last years when her memories started to fade, Inez still brought joy to people's hearts when she sat down and played the piano. Inez was preceded in death by her husband Darwin and oldest daughter Kay McKnight. She is survived by her brother Paul Peterson and sister Lois Mathison, by her children Carol Chapman, Jan Kellett, Calvin Cedarleaf and Russell Cedarleaf, as well as by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Inez will be laid to rest on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 3:30 pm next to her husband at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Ave., Covington, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) to help find a cure. E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, La 70433 is in charge of arrangements. ===================
