On the afternoon of April 8, 2016, Mable Hayes passed away peacefully of 
natural causes. 

Mable was visited and comforted by family members at the Heritage Manor 
Assisted Care Facility in Slidell, Louisiana at the time of her passing. 
Mable was 85 years old and is survived by her daughter Charlette Hayes, her son 
Steven Hayes and granddaughter Laura Feldhaus Newell of Slidell, other 
grandchildern, Amy Lynn Gates, Chris Dietz, and Ron Hayes,great-grandchildern, 
Madyson Newell, William,Ben and Scarlett Dietz, Kelly Lindow, Connor Jenkins 
and Daniel Causey. 

Preceded in death by her son Ronnie Hayes, brother Earl Smith, sister Doyline 
Smith Jones and Anna Raye Smith Holley.

Mable formerly resided in Bastrop, Louisiana and was raised in Bonita, 
Louisiana as a sibling of five brothers and four sisters. 

Her father was Newton Smith and mother Pauline Smith of Bonita, Louisiana. 

Her wishes are to be laid to rest near her parents at the Bonne Idee cemetery 
in Bonita, Louisiana. 
Her memorial service will be held on April 17th at 10:30 a.m. at the cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers and memorials please send donations to the Saint Catherine's 
Hospice, at 2701 Highway 51, LaPlace, Louisiana 70068, for the comfort of 
patients and nurses.

Mable loved to fish, laugh, garden and work on art projects. She had a laugh 
and smile that could light up a room. 
She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
