Dupree, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. He was 39 years old. Brent was born on June 23, 1976 in Taylorville, Illinois. He later moved to Picayune, MS with his family and graduated from Picayune Memorial High School in 1994. In August of 1994, Brent began his military career in the United States Army where he served our country for 11 years, with two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan in the 1st Battalion, 39th Field Artillery Regiment. Brent received several medals, honors, and awards, one of which was the Army Commendation Medal. “The Army Commendation Medal is awarded to any member, other than General Officers, of the Armed Forces that distinguish himself or herself by heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service which are of a lesser degree than that required for the Bronze Star Medal.” ~ Rod Powers, U.S. Military Expert. In January 2007, Brent was honorable discharged as an E-4 from the United States Army. In 2008, Brent married Priscilla Rodriquez and resided in Slidell, Louisiana with his new wife and her two children, Michael and Chloe. Brent loved many things, but playing softball and coaching baseball for kids on the Slidell Bulldogs were amongst the top of his list! Most people did not know this about Brent, but he loved giving back to others, especially kids because he knew the value of being a part of a team and how that comradery can and will form a special bond forever. And while doing so he was attending The University of New Orleans to further his education so he could become a high school teacher and baseball coach. Brent leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife: Priscilla; his children: Michael, Chloe, Asher, and Jazzmin; his siblings: Joshua, Kim, Larry, Natasha, Jessica, Brittnie, and his late sister- Tamara; his father: Lawrence Dupree, Jr., & wife: Pamela Dupree, along with his mother: Bonnie M.
