Gerald was born in Harvey, La. After high school, he served the U.S. Navy as a quartermaster during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He raised his family on the Westbank of New Orleans. He moved to Folsom and later retired as President and Owner of International Testing and Inspection Corporation. He spent the last nine years as an active member and wellness coach at the YMCA of Covington. He was active in the Knights of Columbus (4th degree at Mary Queen of Peace and 3rd degree at Most Holy Trinity) and the Holy Name Society of St. Benedict. He is survived by his wife of four years, Eileen Clesi Boudoin, children Gerald (Jay) Boudoin, Jr. (Becky), and Dawn Protti, (Vincent) and four grandchildren whom he adored: Hunter and Spencer Elizabeth Protti and Casey and Seth Boudoin. He is also survived by his siblings Hazel Sullivan of Georgia, Thomas Boudoin of Tennessee and Marsha Strauch of Alabama. He will be greatly missed by his wife’s children and their families, the Leightons, Hoffmanns, and Salvaggios, who were blessed to be a part of his life. Gerald is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Edith Carragan, his parents Jeanne Richoux and Thomas Boudoin, his grandmother Evelie Sapia Boudoin, and step-brother Joseph Bruce. Gerald had an active social life enjoying card games with friends, music and dancing with his wife, and time spent at the YMCA. He was a genuine gentleman and a good man, and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass Tuesday June 7, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church 20370 Smith Road in Covington, La. at 11:30 AM, Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until service time with burial following at St. Joseph’s Abbey Cemetery. The Reverend Charles Benoit will be officiating. Family, neighbors, friends and members of the YMCA and International Testing are invited to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Abbey flood relief and the Covington YMCA building fund. US Navy ===================
