Garland Lenoid Cox, age 65, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 
2016. 

Loving husband of Barbara Carona Cox.
Proud father of Garland Daniel Cox (DaNeil), Caryn Sarjeant, Leah Cox (Brian), 
Trystan Lozier, Annabella Lozier and Trey Lozier. Step-father of David 
Lastrapes, Derrin Laird (Christine), Deanna Melerine (Randy), and Dawn Laird.
Son of L’Na Jean Smith Cox and the late Artie Frank Cox, Jr.
Brother of Artie Frank Cox, III (Rachel).
Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Lenoid had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off of his back. When 
not at work, he enjoyed his family immensely.

In 1969, he graduated from Amite High School in the top 10 of his class. He 
attended LSU Medical School for two years before he went to work in the oil 
field for Diamond M. Around 1984, he was injured in the oil field, so he went 
back to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 1986. Upon 
graduating college, he began an over 30-year career as a Computer Program 
Analyst for the U.S.D.A., National Finance Center. He moved to Slidell in 1988.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude 
Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org)

Visitation on Monday after 11:00 A.M. until funeral time.
