Roy E. Darby, Sr, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016, he was 
72 years old.

Beloved husband of Carol Uhlich Darby for 53 years. Father of: Linda D. Guillot 
(John); Teresa D. Wright (Scottie); Roy Edward Darby, Jr. (Angie); Patricia D. 
Rodehorst (Brian). Son of the late Clemose Estain.

Also survived by his loving grandchildren: Sarah Guillot; Cameron Wright; Devin 
Darby; Sabrina Darby; Matthew Rodehorst; and Michael Rodehorst.

Roy was born September 6, 1943 and was a resident of Slidell, LA for the past 
70 years. He was an avid duck hunter, commercial crab fisherman, and was known 
for his expertise in soft-shell crabs. Roy was especially proud of his family’s 
100+ year history in the crab industry.

His family would like to thank Dr. Matthew McElveen and SMH Cancer Center for 
their kindness and compassion.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA, on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY, slidell, LA.

Visitation at Honaker Funeral Home on Thursday evening, June 16, 2016 from 5:00 
P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and will resume on Friday morning at 9:00 A.M. until funeral 
time at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Slidell Memorial Cancer Center, 
1120 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA 70458 or Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, 200 
Henry Clay Ave., New Orleans, LA, 70118.
