Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Ignatius Diecidue; son David Diecidue; parents Patrick and Catherine Burke; and siblings Catherine Toups, Patrick Burke, Vincent Burke, Marie Burke, and Anna Owens. She is survived by her brother William Burke; children, Gina Dufrene (Chuck), Patrick Diecidue, Dawn Conners (Don), and Danny (Shannon); and grandchildren Kathryn, Stephen, Danielle, David, and Abby. Margie was a native of New Orleans until she moved to Slidell, Louisiana in 1994. She retired from the United States Department of Agriculture NFC in 1993 and spent her retired years volunteering and participating with many Slidell clubs and organizations. Margie was an active parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she participated in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until her illness. After moving to Lacombe with her children, Margaret became a parishioner of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. Margie spent countless hours volunteering with the Ochsner Northshore auxiliary and socializing with local chapters of NARFE and AARP, COAST, Monday Morning Line Dancers, and First United Methodist XYZ. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral mass at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Lacombe, LA on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 until mass time. A private interment at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery is planned for a later date.
