Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2016/st1606.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Anthony Joseph “Tony” Engolia, age 92, of Slidell, LA passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, June 3, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce LeBlanc Engolia and his sons Glenn Engolia (Janine), Gary Engolia (Marianne), Gregory Engolia (Denise) and Grady Engolia, grandchildren Gina Engolia, Joelle Engolia (Kyle Dunbar), Corey Cochrane, Lori Engolia, Lesley Engolia, Christopher Engolia, Ryan Engolia (Katy), and Blake Engolia, and great-grandchildren Thomas Rose V and Jayde Engolia. Also survived by a brother Louis Engolia Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Engolia Sr. and Florence Di Vincenti Engolia, a brother Salvador Engolia Sr., a sister Anna E. Puglise, and a grandson Michael Engolia. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Tony graduated from SJ Peters High School in New Orleans, served briefly in the US Navy and worked for the US Department of Agriculture before retiring in 1977. He was also a professional drummer and played in several bands, including with the American Legion and with the New Orleans Police Department. He enjoyed being outdoors on his boat, especially fishing and crabbing. Tony was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Slidell, LA for the past 27 years. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff of Park Provence, Integra Care Medical Staffing, and Passages Hospice for their care and kindness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass at 11:00am on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (U.S. Highway 190 West), Slidell, LA 70460. Visitation will be from 9:00am until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Passages Hospice are preferred. US Navy ===================
