Capt. Edwin Charles Gerkin, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 
surrounded by family at his home in Bush, LA. 

He was born on October 28, 1966 in Port Sulphur, LA to Capt. Louis J. Gerkin, 
Sr. and Darlene Jenkins Raines.

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer White Gerkin. He was the loving 
father of Amanda L. Gerkin, Edwin “Charlie” Gerkin, Jr., and Breana F. Hill. 
Eddie will be dearly missed by his four grandchildren, Jayden, Payton, Jaxson, 
and Ryder. He was the brother of Louis, Jr., Jeff, Joey and Stacy. Eddie is 
survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, June 25, 
2016 at 3:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time
