She was born in New Hampshire on July 30, 1947 and grew up in Vincennes, IN. Toni joined the Unites States Air Force in September 1968 where she became a Physician’s Assistant. After graduating from Physician’s Assistant school and the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree, she was assigned to the USAF Hospital Homestead, FL in the Family Practice Clinic in June 1977. In June of 1978, Toni was directly commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, United States Air Force. In 1982, she was transferred to the USAF Clinic in Charleston, SC and assigned to the Family Practice Clinic. In December of 1989, Toni was selected as the consultant for Physician’s Assistants to the Military Airlift Command Surgeon. Major Toni Henry retired from the United States Air Force in June 1991 after 23 years of service. She and her family moved to Mandeville, LA in November 1992 where she worked at Ochsner Clinic as a Physician’s Assistant until 2002. She received a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska in 2000. After her retirement from Ochsner, she was active in community work with the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Toni is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Virginia (Ginny) Marcroft as well as her nephew, Ian Theriac. Toni is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, Larry; her two sons, Jason (Courtney) Henry of Charlotte, NC; and Joshua Henry of Mandeville. Also surviving are her 4 siblings-Chuck (Maria) Marcroft of Vincennes, IN; Sam (Dorothy) Marcroft of Vincennes, IN; Jeff (Gail) Marcroft of Concho, AZ; and Tracy (Charlie) Mains, also of Vincennes, IN, and many other beloved friends and family. Funeral Services will be held at Mary, Queen of Peace in Mandeville, Louisiana on Monday, June 13, 2016. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm; with the Funeral Mass at 1pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Abbey Cemetery (75376 River Road, Covington, LA).
