A resident of St. Tammany Parish for nearly 50 years, he was born on Friday, August 25, 1933 in Shreveport, LA to Virgie Elizabeth Gipson and James Darlton Oglesby. He is survived by his wife Angie Howell, three sons, Tim, David, and Jonathan, three daughters, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. His parents and one brother, Willard Oglesby, who died serving his country during World War II, and his first wife of 33 years, Faye Mullen Oglesby preceded him in death. Mack is also survived by a multitude of friends. They enjoyed his story telling and ever present sense of humor. Lunching with friends was his favorite pastimes. His gregarious nature led him to a career in sales. He eventually became the top salesman with Sexhauer Plumbing Supply Co. In 1979 he formed his own plumbing supply company, Mack Wholesale Plumbing Parts in Covington, LA with the purpose of providing personal, professional service with quality products. In 1983 he spearheaded a networking group of plumbing supply distributors. The purpose was to improve communication, cooperation, and education in his industry. The organization, National Association of Plumbing Specialty Distributors (NAPSD) now has member companies throughout the United States. Mack loved to travel and visited every US state and Canadian Province, visiting museums, meeting people and listening to music. Music influenced his life and, as a young adult, he attended the Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport, which began his life-long interest in country music. Mack was an antique car enthusiast, owning and touring in a 1914 Model T Ford. On the Ford’s 98th birthday, Mack took it on a 1,600 mile round trip through the Alleghany Mountains. He was a member of the Mississippi Magnolia Model T Club, Pine Belt Antique Auto Club, Tin Lizzie Arkansas Model T Ford Club, and the Northlake A’s Model A Club in St. Tammany Parish. His last antique car trip, at age 80, was driving his 1930 Model A Ford Coupe from Kentucky to Niagara Falls, Canada and back visiting fellow car enthusiasts and the Henry Ford Museum. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours on Wednesday will begin at 9:00 AM. Mack gave generously to others throughout his life. Flowers are welcome but you can also remember him by doing something special for someone else. ===================
