She was born on November 7, 1941 in Byrdstown, TN to James Alfred & Francis Mai (Gilliam) Wood and has been a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 13 years. Her Father, a retired Lt. Col. Chaplain of the United States Army, and mother preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by three brothers: Jim Wood, Bob Wood & John Wood; and her husband of 42 years, Jack A. Branch, Sr., who also retired from Military service having served in the United States Navy. She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Jean Branch; son, Jack A. Branch, Jr.; granddaughter, Anna Grace Branch; brother, Joe Wood; sister, Joan Wood Howell (David); daughter-in-love, Cynthia Cleland Roth; several nieces & nephews; bonus family members, Debbie Williams, Dona Dozier, Lois Vaughn, Bettie Scates, Chely Cleland & Mary Wood Goldsberry. Mrs. Branch retired as a Claims Administrator for the Social Security Administration. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138 with Pastor Charles Cowan officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Serving as active pallbearers will be Ricky Parker, Forrest Parker, Drake Parker, Joe Wood, Jr., Todd Wood & Jack Wood. Honorary pallbearer will be David Howell. In addition to floral tributes, contributions in Mrs. Branch's honor may be made to any of the following organizations; ourgoodshepardministries.org; Animal Helper, New Orleans, LA; National or International Adoption Agency; any Homeless Ministry Outreach; any local Humane Society or the charity of your choice. ===================
