Curt was 64 and was born on January 12, 1952, in San Diego, California, while his father was stationed there in the Navy. Curt was a 1970 graduate from Slidell High School and graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge in 1976 with a degree in accounting. After graduation he worked for D. H. Holmes and then K&B in the accounting department until they closed. He then opened his own successful tax business, Crawford Tax and Accounting Service, which will continue to operate as a family business going forward. Upon his father’s semi-retirement, he also co-owned and operated with his father and son, Crawford Fire and Safety, which also continues to operate. He met Mary, the love of his life, at SLU and they were married in May of 1974. Their children Scott and then Kelly completed their family. His three grandchildren, William, Victoria and Austyn, were his pride and joy. Curt was an avid hunter and fisherman, traveling to Alaska, South Dakota, Nebraska and Oklahoma to hunt with his dad and son almost yearly. He grew up hunting with his father Curtis and fishing with his mother Frances on their lease at Flat Point Hunting Club in Lacombe and more recently at their new lease Cypress Pointe in Madisonville. He loved nothing more than to travel around the world with his wife. He also loved being out in nature, often going out to hunt or to fish before going off to work in the city. Aside from his family, hunting and fishing were what he lived for. Curt was a lifelong Dodgers fan often traveling to watch them play. Curt also loved everything Harry Potter, and he and Mary vacationed to Edinburg Castle in Scotland for the Harry Potter tour. Curt was also a die-hard LSU and Saints fan, and never missed a game. Curt is survived by his loving and devoted wife Maryana (Mary) Pizanie Crawford, son Scott Crawford (Jennifer), daughter Kelly “Daisy” Crawford, grandchildren William, Victoria and Austyn, his parents, Curtis L. and Frances Carollo Crawford of Slidell; three sisters, Terri Juge (Bobby), Ruby Swords and Tina White (Bill); siblings-in-law, Nola Brown, Andre Tylor, Paul Pizanie (Melissa), Gerri Landry and Donna Pizanie. He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law Clarence (Chuck) Pizanie and Elvy Pengelly (Art) brother Wade Crawford (5/2014) and his brother-in-law, Mike Swords, Sr. (2/2015). Curt is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts and his beloved chocolate lab Pimp. The memorial service to celebrate Curt’s life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 10am to 12 noon at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435, with a mass to follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Curt’s name to the Costal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) P.O. Box 44027, Baton Rouge, LA 70804. ===================
