Shirley was born December 10, 1942 in Duarte, California and eventually became a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana where she started to raise her family. She was the loving wife of the late James Stanford Manint for 56 years. The couple raised three children; Jimmy, Eddie, and Tina. Shirley was a devoted and caring mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become “Maw Maw” to her seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Shirley also had a special place in her heart for her two dogs, Shoo Shoo and Baby, and spoiled them to the fullest. Shirley loved to watch reruns of “Murder She Wrote” and the family was always excited to smell her cowboy beans cooking on the stove. Shirley’s most amazing characteristic was the love and compassion she gave to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. MawMaw always made you feel like she had been waiting to see just you all day, and now that she had, her day was complete. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late James Stanford Manint, devoted mother of Jimmy Manint, Eddie and his wife Kay Manint, and Tina Manint. Loving MawMaw of James, Edward, Tracy, Lacey, Theo, Dane Manint, and Justin Stocks, and amazing Great Grandmother to Aria, Cole Manint, Jacey Anne Jones, and Tyler Phelps. Graveside service will be held at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalmette, LA at a later time. ===================
