Miriam G. “Cookie” Vortisch passed away on July 12, 2016 at the age of 82. 

Born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for over 40 years. Cookie had a passion 
for bingo and the New Orleans Saints. 

Devoted wife of the late Adolph F. Vortisch for 57 years. Loving mother of 
Miriam Murphy (the late Jesse Murphy, Sr.), Gerald Jacobs, Jr., Keith Jacobs 
(Cindy), Virginia Hallock (Roy), Lydia Perret (Ronald), William Vortisch, 
George Vortisch (Monica), and the late Armando Jacobs, Sr., Claude Vortisch and 
Rocky Jacobs, Sr. (Gladys). Stepmother of Adolph “Champ” Vortisch Jr. and 
Yvette Rush. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, 
nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian 
Burial at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy., Kenner, on 
Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:30 am. 
Visitation at the church on Saturday from 10:30 am until Mass begins. 

Interment immediately following at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Airline Dr. 

Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA.
