Beloved husband of Nancy Adams Ritzmann, father of Heather Ritzmann Becnel, stepfather of Michelle Langston and Kelly Tournier, son of Ada Becnel Ritzmann and the late Frank Ritzmann; brother of Julie Millard (Earl Millard), godfather of Gerald Millard (Liz Millard) and Stephen Ritzmann (Jill Ritzmann), uncle of Leslie Millard. Carl also is survived by two granddaughters, two grandsons, two great nephews, one great niece, and many loving friends. A native of Marrero and a resident of Slidell since 1985, Carl was a 1968 graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971 from Nicholls State University, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE). He received an Honorable Discharge from the Air National Guard of Louisiana and the United States Air Force Reserve in 1978. Carl was active in the insurance industry as the Regional Sales Manager for Pan American Insurance for 20 years. More recently he was an Account Executive with Stiel Insurance Services of New Orleans, Inc. Carl was a very active member of Christ Episcopal Church, Slidell, LA and currently was serving as the church's the Senior Warden. He also served for many years as an Usher and as a well-respected senior advisor. He will be greatly missed by his church family. Carl was an active member of Tammany Yacht Club and loved his boating activities. Over the years, he served TYC in every position on the Board and was Commodore for the year 2011. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation and funeral services. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Christ Episcopal Church Slidell, 1534 Seventh Street, Slidell, LA, 70458, on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 3:00 P.M.
