She was the beloved wife of Jerry Cochran for 61 years, loving mother of daughters Stephanie Cochran Treadaway (Randy) of Mandeville, Louisiana, Deb Cochran of Lafayette, Louisiana, Jennifer Cochran Wyrick (Jeff) of Edmond, Oklahoma and son, Christopher Cochran of Washington, D.C. She was the sweet and caring grandmother to granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Treadaway of Brooklyn, New York, Kaitlin Victoria Treadaway of Tampa, Florida and grandson Emerson Vinson Wyrick of Edmond, Oklahoma. Jennie was born in 1933 in Natick, MA to immigrant Albanian parents, the late Vasil and Angie Christie. She was the cherished sister of the late Antinetta Zicko (Victor), Charles Christie (Nancy), Margaret Beaver (Claude) and sister- in-law of Jacqueline Cochran Lavender. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jennie graduated from Natick High School in 1951 where she was a cheerleader. That same year she was crowned the first "Miss Natick". She was a legal secretary, working loyally for John Cassally and later, Arnold Zaltas. Married in the Albanian Orthodox Church of Natick in 1956, Jennie followed her husband to Germany where he served in the Army Security Agency. They moved to Natick in 1958, where they resided until 1972. Following a job transfer to New Orleans, Jerry, Jennie and family moved to Slidell. Jerry and Jennie have resided there ever since. Upon moving to Louisiana, Jennie became active in the Slidell Newcomers Club and Les Femmes, which she enjoyed for almost 35 years, especially her monthly luncheons and Pokeno games with "The Girls". Jennie was a wonderful homemaker and mother. If she wasn't working or taking care of her family, she was busy with her many hobbies--crocheting, baking, Holly Hobby crafting, gardening and being an avid fan of her many favorite sports teams--Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins and New England Patriots. Jennie will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00-6:00 and funeral service at 6:00, Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell 70460. Father George Wilson of Holy Trinity Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Jennie's memory to Notre Dame Hospice. ===================
