Visiting hours at the church Friday will begin at 10:00 AM. A service of burial will be officiated by Monsignor John Timmermans on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, 9986 Bayou Des Glaises St. Moreauville, LA 71355. Kepler Paul Ducote departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2016 in Covington, LA. Mr. Ducote was born on December 25, 1932 in Cottonport, LA. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1954 with B.S. in Geological Engineering. Mr. Ducote is a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1954 until honorable discharge in 1956. In 1956 he commenced employment with Ark Fuel Oil in Lafayette, LA as a junior geologist. He continued his career in the petroleum industry with Cities Service Oil and Gas and Occidental Petroleum rising to the position of Senior Vice President of Domestic Exploration in Bakersfield, California. Over his career spanning some 40 years, Mr. Ducote worked in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and California where he retired in 1995. He made his home in Mandeville, LA in 1996 where he enjoyed traveling, his family, church friends, and following the New Orleans Saints. Mr. Ducote is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Antoinette (Tonette) Rachal Ducote; his children, Marty Ducote (Heidi), of Oxford, Mississippi, John Ducote (Liz) of Houston, Texas, Renee Caldecott (Andrew) of Clinton, Mississippi, and Andre Ducote (Elizabeth) of Madison, Mississippi. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his sister, Diane Rasch (Kenneth) of Cottonport, Louisiana as well as numerous extended family. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Mondel and Ola Ducote of Cottonport, Louisiana and his brother, Jackie Ducote, also of Cottonport, Louisiana.
