Lundgren (Stephen); uncle to Caroline, Abbey, Philip, Andrew and Charlotte Lundgren and Camille Gustafson; nephew of Ronald and Mary Melancon, Robert L. Melancon, Leonard and Loretta Melancon, Dr. Ronald Gustafson; he is sadly missed by cousins Patrice, Chris and Robb Melancon, Jason and Jennifer Melancon. Academic achievements began at Brother Martin High School, then Hancock High where he pursued football and scholastic successes. He accomplished a state victory in Physics before completing high school at Saint Paul’s in Covington, LA. For college his studies commenced at Mississippi State and continued in Hattiesburg at USM where he lived for 10 years. He moved to Meridian, MS to be close to his daughter, Jessica. This led to a new career…Eric completed his studies with the Mississippi State Fire Academy on January 30, 2014. Eric was proud to be a father and a fireman, and he thrived in both roles. He was gifted at math and tutored students in attaining their GED. In his spare time, he volunteered for the crisis hotline, had a passion for guitar playing and philosophical writing, and loved the outdoors and camping with his precious Jessica. The great joy of Eric’s life was his family and faith. He was devoted to Christ and wanted everyone to love the Lord as he did. A quote from Eric, “The first time I called out His name from the bottom of my heart, my life changed forever!” Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 11 AM – 1 PM with Mass of Christian burial at 1:00 PM.
