Our beloved mother, Rita Stire Bergeron-Miller, passed away on Thursday, 
September 29, 2016 at the beautiful age of 91.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite Martin Stire , father, John 
Stire and brother, Milton Stire. 

Beloved wife of the late Pellum (Willie) Bergeron by first marriage and the 
late Charles (CJ) Miller, Jr by second marriage. 

She is survived by her son, Wayne Bergeron (Suzanne), and step children, 
Charlyn Denny (James), Craig Miller (Roxana), and Chauvon Matherne (Paul, Jr). 
Grandchildren, Angele Baldo (Harry), Michele Boudreaux (Donald), Alisha Roberts 
(Curtis, Sr), Katryn Schmidt, Ryan Schmidt, Desirie Allnet, Channon Melerine 
(Tony), Craig Miller (Amanda), Christen Miller, Paul Matherne, III (Lindsey), 
and Brant Matherne. Great Grandchildren Justin Baldo, Curtis Roberts Jr, Sydney 
Roberts, Vaughn Schmidt, Jonas Lambert, Londyn Melerine, CJ Miller, Charli 
Miller, and Lucy Matherne. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, 
and friends. 

Rita was affectionately known as “Rita from Abita” and was loved by so many. 
She had a sparkling personality and fashion sense. She enjoyed spending time 
with family and friends and always hosted the holiday gatherings. She was the 
life of the party and will be missed dearly. 

A memorial service will be held at St Jane de Chantal Catholic Church on 
Saturday, October 8, 2016. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 
St Jane Hall, located at 72040 Maple Street, Abita Springs, LA 70420, followed 
by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. 

Interment will follow in Abita Cemetery.
