ORDOGNE, SELENER DUCRE 
	Died: Mon., Sep. 19, 2016

Selener Ducre Lafitte Ordogne [94], of Lacombe, LA died peacefully in her sleep 
on Monday, September 19, 2016, after 12 years of residence at the Lacombe 
Nursing Center due to final stage Alzheimer’s disease.

Selener (or “Celina”) was born to the union of Alphonse and Regina Ducre (both 
deceased) in Lacombe, LA on March 22, 1922, the second of 8 children, Madeline 
(deceased), Marcil (deceased), Mardis, Leona (deceased), Mildred (deceased), 
Marie and Alphonse, Jr. 

Selener was married to Miller Jack Lafitte (deceased) and to this union 10 
children were born; Cynthia (Jacob), Miller (Emma), Roosevelt ”Bakey” 
(Marilyn), Richard (Alice), Alice (Raymond), Martha (Frank-Deceased), Barbara 
(Olubimega), Jacqueline (Ronald), Adaline (Rickey), and Beatrice (Albert).  

Selener had 27 grandchildren (1 deceased), 40 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-
great-grandchildren.  

She later married Robert Ordogne (deceased) and was step-mother to his 
children, Edward (deceased), Emery (deceased), Rosalie (deceased), Eric “Joe” 
and Won “Stefon”.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Sacred Heart 
of Jesus Catholic Church, 28088 Main St., Lacombe, LA, with visitation from 
9:00-11:00 AM and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.  

Internment immediately following at Ossey Ordogne Cemetery in Lacombe.
