George Louis “Pops” Vogel, Sr. passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 
surrounded by family at his home in Covington, LA. 
He was born on November 20, 1941 in New Orleans, LA to George Charles Vogel and 
Myrle Sylvia Shaw Vogel.

Pops is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marlene Marino Vogel. He was 
the loving father of Kim V. Lindemann (Kirk), George L. Vogel, Jr. (Kim), and 
Steven P. Vogel (Angel). Pops was the proud grandfather of Drew M Lindemann, 
Paige E. Lindemann, Steven Vogel II, and Remington L. Vogel. He was the brother 
of Debra Henrickle (JoBilly), Rickie Vogel, and the late Merlin Vogel (Lisa). 
Pops is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pops was an outdoorsman. He loved gambling at the casinos, fishing, playing 
golf, and hunting at “The Place”. 
Most of all, Pops loved his family and lived his life to the fullest.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy 
Trinity Dr., Covington, LA 70433, on Friday September 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM with 
Visitation from 10:00 AM until Mass time. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tulane 
Medical Center and Prostate Cancer Research.
