Born May 11, 1935 in Empire, LA. Mato worked for General Electric Lighting for 33 years and retired in 1993. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mato was the loving husband of Penny and loving father of Gretchen (Dan) Ryan, Rachel (Al Lewry) Sherman, David Juka, Timothy (Monica) Juka, Lando Smith; cherished grandfather and great-grandfather; uncle of numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents Mato (Sarah) Juka; sisters, Mary (Walter) Barbier and Gloria Herrmann. The family would like to thank the Trace Memory Care Center, Passages Hospice and MaxCare for their care and support. Family and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, at 11a.m. on Monday, October 10th at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple St., Abita Springs. Burial will be in Abita Springs Cemetery immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. ===================
