He was a lifelong resident of Delacroix Island in St. Bernard Parish. He is survived by his children Clinton Melerine, Donna Melerine, Philip (Mary) Melerine, and Pam (Philip) Mones. Grandfather of Philip (Kim) Mones, Jason (Amanda) Mones, Tiffany Carrasco, Victoria Melerine, Clinton Melerine, Jr., Ryan (Lindsi) Melerine, Maegan Melerine and Mike (Amy) Keller. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren. He was the son of the late Anthony (“Tony”) and Leonicia Campo Melerine and son-in-law of the late William and Lelia Martinez. Loving brother of Jerry Melerine, Daniel Melerine and the late Landry (Theda), Lutchie (Judy), Morris (Doll) Melerine and Lorraine and Arthur Perez. Brother-in-law to William (Nancy) Martinez, John Martinez, Bobby (Sylvia) Martinez and the late Alvin Martinez and Nancy Winkler. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Buddy was a retired longshoreman. He loved to tell stories about his time on the Mississippi River. Buddy loved being on the water driving a boat, fishing, shrimping, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Our family grew each day because Buddy and Anna never met a stranger. Everyone that entered their home became another family member. He enjoyed sharing a meal and stories with everyone. If you were in his company, you felt at home, felt you were in a safe place with someone to confide in and seek counsel, you enjoyed laughter and memories, you were loved unconditionally. Buddy will truly be missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life at Iverson Hall, St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2805 Bayou Road, St. Bernard, LA on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Mass will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, Covington, LA in charge of arrangements. ===================
