Edgar Arnoldo Bogantes peacefully passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 
the age of 92. 
He was surrounded by his family and wife of 66 years, Georgina Bogantes at 
their home in Slidell Louisiana. 

Born in Panama he and his wife came to the United States in 1950 and have been 
residents of Slidell for the last 65 years where they raised their only son 
Edgar R. Bogantes. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor M. Bogantes and Maria M. 
Bogantes, granddaughter Elizabeth M. Bogantes and five siblings: Victor, Jorge, 
Marco, Fernando, and Virginia.

Upon arriving in Slidell, Edgar began his career as a medical technologist at 
Howard Clinic where he was a valued member of the staff for over 35 years.

He is survived by his wife Georgina Bogantes, their son Edgar R. Bogantes and 
daughter-in-law Deborah H. Bogantes and their four children: Edgar R. Bogantes 
II (Rebecca), Christopher M. Bogantes, Joseph P. Bogantes (Linda), Kathryn E. 
Hecker (Eric) and five great grandchildren: Veronica, Edgar III, Chloe, 
Elizabeth and Amelia and two siblings: Carlos and Margarita.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass celebrating Edgar's life at 
St. Margaret Mary Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA 70458, Wednesday 
November 30th beginning at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Jude 
Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
