He was born on Friday, August 29, 1941, in New Orleans, LA to Sophie Quave and Earl Charles Clairain, Sr. and was a life time resident of the Abita Springs/Covington area. The beloved husband of Zula Heintz Clairain, he is survived by five children - Michael W. Clairain (Barbara), Tara A. Clairain, Michelle C. Fauntleroy (Grant), James Earl Clairain and Marie Clairain-Savell (Majure); 11 grandchildren - Candace C. Abraham (Mark), Lindsey and Katie Clairain, Ain- Clair Francis Booth, Jocelyn Rojas Pigott (Pierre), Michael B. and Donovan C. Rojas, Keagan, Reagan and Landon Fauntleroy and Lane C. Firmin; three great grandchildren - Jarred Noel, Brice Williams and Jeremih Pigott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sophie and Earl, and his brother, Earl C. Clairain, Jr. Walter Clairain was loved by every person that knew him. Never met a stranger. He was self employed for over 50 years with the family business, Clairain Concrete Products. He had a life membership with B.A.S.S. and N.R.A., and spent several years contributing to, and acting as President for the Lion's Club of Covington, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the Clairain Family in Celebration of Walter’s life from 10:00 AM - Noon on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue Covington, LA 70433. At 12 Noon, funeral rites will begin with the Catholic Liturgy of the Word. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. ===================
