Dorothy Louise Rushing Cross, 89, of Slidell, LA, for the past ten years, 
passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at home with her family in Slidell, 
Louisiana. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Winton Otto Cross; one sister: Ruth 
Rushing Black Stone.

Dorothy is survived by two children: Caryn Cross Brock (Jeff), and Teresa 
Monica Cross; one grandchild: Kelsey Brock Garcia (Justin); three great-
grandchildren: Gage Garcia, Macyn Garcia, and Blake Garcia.

Dorothy was a consummate mother, wife, and homemaker. She was the most loving, 
caring, thoughtfull,and giving woman around. Her smile was infectious. She had 
a wonderful sense of humor and her laugh was contagious. She was a volunteer 
for the March of Dimes, the American Heart Association, and St. Jude Childrens 
Research Hospital.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.

Memorial Services will be held at First Christian Church Slidell, 102 Christian 
Lane, Slidell LA 70458 (corner of Christian Lane and Robert Blvd) on Friday, 
January 13, 2017, at 11:00 A.M.

A reception will be held at the Church Hall following the service.
