Myron “Red” Joseph Moreau, 82 years old, entered into eternal rest on January 
10, 2017 after a short courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was the devoted and loving husband of 55 years to Diane Comeaux Moreau. 
Loving and dedicated father to Rebecca Moreau Simonson and Richard Moreau of 
Mandeville, Dr. John Moreau and his wife Connie of Lafayette. He was preceded 
in death by son Wayne Joseph Moreau. Proud grandfather of Steven and Kathryn 
Simonson, Grace Simonson and fiancée Robert Holden, Hunter Simonson, Collin 
Moreau, Christian Moreau, Cameron Moreau and Grant Moreau. 
Son of the late Carrie and Blumes Moreau of Cottonport. Survived by his two 
sisters Audrey Smith and Louise Lacour and his nephew Martin Smith and family. 
Mr. Moreau is also survived by the extended Comeaux family of sisters in laws, 
brother in laws and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moreau was born and raised in Cottonport, Louisiana and graduated from 
Cottonport High School in 1951. He joined the U. S. Marine Corps and fought in 
the Korean War. Mr. Moreau received many honors during his 3 years of service 
in the Marines. Serving in the Marines enabled him to go to USL on the G.I. 
bill. He received a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering in 1959. IN 1992, 
Mr. Moreau was recognized as an outstanding alumni for success in the 
engineering industry and for service to the community and USL. Mr. Moreau 
worked for Chevron U.S.A. for 31 years. While working for Chevron, Myron and 
his family lived in many locations in Louisiana and Sumatra, Indonesia and 
Aberdeen, Scotland. He retired while working in the New Orleans office as Vice 
President of Offshore Production. Mr. Moreau also served on the board of 
directors for Global Industries, LTD.

True to his Cajun heritage, Mr. Moreau was an avid hunter and fisherman. He 
also enjoyed playing golf especially in retirement. Mr. Moreau treasured his 
time spent with family and his generosity to them was boundless. His love, 
generosity and ability to solve any problem will be missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation and Funeral Mass at E.J. 
Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, 
January 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM with visitation on Friday beginning at 11:30 AM.

Interment to follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, masses preferred or donations to St. Joseph Abbey in 
Covington or Hospice of St. Tammany.
