Margaret V. Smith of Slidell, passed away after a lengthy illness, Monday 
night, January 9, 2017, at the age of 73. 

She was formerly a long-term resident of both Stone County, MS, and Broomfield, 
CO. Mrs. 

Smith was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen Brauch, and her 
husband, Richard Smith. 
She is survived by her daughters, Helen Grisham (Sheila) of Gulfport, MS., and 
Teresa L. Smith of Slidell, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, 
Charles H. Procell, Jr., Sarah Pitts (David), and Michele Procell. She is also 
survived by her dear cousin, Marilyn Ann Fritzler (Gordon), and her nine great 
grandchildren. 

Margaret was a homemaker while her children were young, but went on to a 
successful career as a butcher and deli manager in Stone County and 
Poplarville, MS.

Margaret chose to exit this realm as she lived, with dignity, grace, and humor. 
She requested no services be held and any tributes in her honor be made to no-
kill animal shelters in her name.
