Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2017/st1702.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Rodney Thomas Brignac, the rock upon which our family was built, passed away peacefully at the home of his son on February 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving, immediate family. Mr. Brignac was born in French Settlement, LA on December 29, 1925 and was a long-time resident of Mandeville, LA. He served his country in the US Navy from 1943-46 as a medical Corpsman in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed by Inland Steel Container Co of New Orleans, LA for 32 years. He belonged to many civil organizations such as the VFW post 8720, Fourth Ward Recreation Association, and coached many little league teams. He was also a lifetime member of the Mandeville Boating Association and delivered meals with the Meals on Wheels program for several years. He was a parishioner of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Abita Springs, LA. Rodney was a proud father, grandfather, and recently great-grandfather. He is survived by 2 sons; Dennis of Hammond, LA and Jacques and wife Kathy of Simsbury, CT. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Louis of San Diego, CA, Michelle of Boston, MA, Kasey and husband Ben Lotz and Great Grandson Lawson Lotz of Hammond, LA. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Vivian Vial Brignac, his parents Edna and Felix Brignac, Sr., and six siblings: Ethel (infant), Nora Berthelot, Dora Fontenot, Harold, VV (Jack), and Felix, Jr. He has one surviving sister- in-law, Lucille Brignac, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until Service Time.
