She was born on April 21, 1940 in Jamestown, California, daughter of the late Thomas N. Martellone and Uarda A. Johnston, sister of Jerry Martellone, of Pearl River, Louisiana and the late Larry Reeves of Show Low, Arizona. Janice grew up in Yuma, Arizona, went to Yuma High School and later met the love of her life, Harold Sidney McQueen Jr. Janice is survived by her husband, Sidney, who she has been married to for 56 years; four children, the late Nikki Holifield (Leonard), Patti Holden (Aaron), Jerry McQueen, and Brent McQueen, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was a long-time member of the Pearl River community. She freely gave of her time with the youth of the community, often coaching ball teams and volunteering at the local schools. She made history as the first female mayor of Pearl River, having served the community for over 8 years. She was also well known as a business woman, owning a local video store as well as serving as manager of the offices at Sewer District #7. Janice was an avid genealogist and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She found joy in serving her fellow man and her Heavenly Father. Maw Maw Mac, as she was known by many, will be fondly remembered for the love she had for her family and friends. At Janice’s request, a private service will be held for immediate and extended family at the Southeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00am. A procession will take place at 10:30am from D.T. Williams Funeral Home to Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery where a committal service will take place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Janice’s memory to either The American Cancer Society or The National Alzheimer's Association. ===================
