She was born in Bedico on December 12, 1925 to Rittia M. and Willis W. Vining. Beloved wife for 36 years to the late John H. Ostendorf, Jr. Loving mother of Johnnie Lou Ostendorf Alford (Mike) of Covington, Randy Ostendorf (Patty) of Covington, and Bryan Ostendorf (Gina) of Madisonville. Grandmother of Robert Alford, Jr., Sean Alford (Myra), Heather Alford, Kristen Alford,Tiffany Alford, Brandi Ostendorf Steinberg (Ian), Allison Ostendorf, Kirk Ostendorf, Bryan Jon Ostendorf (Candace), Andrew Ostendorf (Tristy) and Marc Ostendorf. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and the sister of Mattie Vining Jenkins of Madisonville. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank L. Vining and three sisters, Elvora (Wowo) Vining Arnold, Evelyn Vining Derks and Lula Mae Vining Morse. She was a graduate of Ponchatoula High School and was a lifelong resident of Madisonville. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville. She will always be remembered for her smiling face and loving spirit. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM with visitation on Friday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Morse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mrs. Ostendorf to be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. ===================
