Beloved husband of 42 years to Brenda Dupuy Schwartz. Loving father of Anton Louis Schwartz IV (Tessa) and Kristel Schwartz Sproles (Danny). Son of the late Vida Hammer Schwartz and Anton Louis Schwartz II. Brother of the late Earl Schwartz. Grandfather of eight wonderful grandchildren, Gavin Schwartz, Chase Schwartz, Kendall Schwartz, Brooklyn Schwartz, Harley Schwartz, Haylee Sproles, Adalynn Sproles and Andrew Sproles. Also, devoted owner of his loyal dog Maybelline. Anton worked 11 years at N.O.P.S.I. before joining the N.O.P.D. After 12 years, he joined the Mandeville Police Dept. He became the parish’s first D.A.R.E. Officer working at numerous Mandeville and St. Tammany Parish schools. He was awarded Louisiana’s D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year in 1997. Officer Schwartz was also selected to be a School Resource Officer, due to the relationships he had built with the students and the trust they had in him. Along with his passion for the D.A.R.E. program, he was also a volunteer girls track coach, softball coach, and football coach at Mandeville Jr. High. Anton loved all sports, bar-b-quing, dog shows, going out to eat, and playing country guitar. But most of all, he loved and cherished spending time with family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM.
