Raymond Herschel Batey, Sr., age 75, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Friday, 
March 31, 2017.

Beloved Husband of the late Patricia Laborde Batey.
Father of Ray Batey and wife, Suzanne; Kevin Batey; Greg Batey and wife Sheila.
Also survived by his granddaughters: Jessica  B.Schoemberger; Lauren Bullock; 
Christina Batey; Amanda Stewart; and Ashley Batey. One grandson, the late 
Benjamin Smith, two great-granddaughters: Lexi Schoemberger, Anzleigh Bullock 
and three great-grandsons; Christian Batey, Beau Bullock and Kade Dubuisson.
Brother of June Reimann and the late Mary Pillion and Myra Thomas.  

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from  L & N Railroad after 23 
years as a Chief Clerk.
He was a member of the Elks,and a Mason and Past Master with Ocean-Orleans 
Lodge #144.
He was a camping enthusiast and traveled all over the united states with his 
late wife.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral
Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN 
CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Wednesday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
