He was born on Friday, July 29, 1927 in Walnut Grove, MS to Jennie May Cox and John Jackson Brantley and was a resident of Covington, LA for 45 years. He was a United States Army veteran of WW II and a graduate of William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS. Bro. Brantley was a Baptist minister for over 50 years and continued serving his Lord through his retirement years. His heart’s desire was to share his love for Jesus with everyone he had chance to meet. The beloved husband of Exie Burns Brantley for 63 years, he is survived by one daughter - Freda Brantley Little (Jack); his grandson - Luke N. Little; two brothers - William O. "Bill" Brantley and Louis "Gary" Brantley; and two sisters - Janice Brantley Boozer and Eula May Brantley Duroux. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers - Lamar, Billie, Roy, Dewitt, JB and Abner Brantley; and two sisters - Mabel Beard and Genevieve Wallace. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Collins Blvd. Baptist Church, 1501Collins Blvd. Covington, LA 70433, officiated by Bro. Shannon Burns. A wake is scheduled to take place Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5-8:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visitation at the Church on Saturday will begin at 9:00 AM Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA will immediately follow services.
