Simon (Monk) Bernard Kiefer, Jr., age 88 of Folsom, LA died on Sunday, March 05, 2017, at his home. 

Born, Thursday, December 20, 1928 in New Orleans, LA to Simon B. Kiefer, Sr. and Louise Lasserre Kiefer. Simon retired from Gulf Best Electric and was a member of IBEW Local 130.

Survived by his Wife - Emilie G. Kiefer, Daughters - Brenda L Kiefer, Adele K Werner (Bill), Son - Gregory B Kiefer (Judy Stanley), Grandchildren Randall Stephens, Richard Stephens, Meghan W Oakley, Madelyne Werner, William Werner V; Great Grandchildren Jasmine and Shayne Stephens, and Emma Oakley. 

He was predeceased by his Father - Simon B. Kiefer, Sr., Mother - Louise Lasserre Kiefer, Sisters - Vivian Dannaples, Audrey Hoffman, Dorothy Dannaples, and Evelyn Daigle.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 8:00 AM until 11:00 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue Covington, LA 70433.
Funeral Mass following visitation at 11:00 AM.

Inurnment in Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery Slidell, LA at a later date.
