Raymond Barry Maestri passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 surrounded by 
family at his home in Covington, LA. 
He was born on February 25, 1928 in New Orleans, LA to the late Paul A. Maestri 
and Lillian Barry. He was a resident of Covington for more than 70 years.

Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Gilda Rosales Maestri. He 
was the loving father of Raymond J. Maestri (Becky), Edward J. Maestri Sr. 
(Desireé), Noel Maestri (Gayle), Charles J. Maestri, Sr., Maria M. Gerry 
(Joseph), Norma M. Fitzmorris (Russell), Desireé M. Coyne (Frank), and Gary P. 
Maestri, Sr. (Lori). Raymond will be missed by his 28 grandchildren and 44 
great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Adele Dominguez, and the late Paul 
Maestri, Jr., Donald Maestri, Sr., and Victor Maestri.

Raymond attended St. Aloysius High School, New Orleans, LA and graduated from 
St. Paul’s College, Covington, LA in 1947. While attending St. Paul’s, Raymond 
was a member of the State Championship Track Teams and was later inducted into 
the St. Paul’s High School Hall of Fame. He was a dedicated baseball coach in 
the Covington Community Center for many years. He was a parishioner of St. 
Peter Catholic Church and member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3061.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Catholic 
Church, 125 E. 19th Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 
1:00 PM with Visitation from 11:00 AM until service time. 

Interment will be at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, St. Benedict, LA.
