Singing Policeman) passed away peacefully at his home on Monday afternoon, March 27, 2017, at the age of 83. He was born in and a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Charles Castel and Claire Hannah Marshall, but resided in Lacombe for the last 7 years. Jerry was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing and acting, but singing was his passion. He was the loving husband of Edrina Holmes Marshall for almost 63 years. Devoted father of 9, Deborah, Thomas, Gerald Jr., Shirley, Dina, James, Susan and the late Gregory Earl and Charles Hampton Marshall. Grandfather of 18 and Great Grandfather of 29. Brother of the late Charles “Jack” Marshall. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation services at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Highway 36, Covington, LA., on Friday, March 31, 2017, at 8:00 am. A Requiem Mass will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 510 Vortisch Road, Lacombe, LA at 10:00 am. Immediately following the Mass, interment will take place at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to Notre Dame Hospice for the loving care they provided in their time of need.
