Lois M. Bernard was called home by her heavenly Father on Thursday, April 6, 
2017 in Covington, LA. 

She was born on April 18, 1923 in Robert, LA to the late Roddy Myers and Nettie 
Breland Myers.

Lois is survived by her beloved son, Garland Bernard, and daughter-in-law, Amy 
Bernard. 
Lois was the sister of Ray Myers (Betty), Daisy Myers, Bernice Terrell, the 
late Yvonne Fairburn, Eunice Stevens, and Ottis Myers. 
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Lois was also preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and loving 
husband of 36 years, Ezra “Jake” Bernard.

Lois had a gift for detail and organization. During her professional career, 
Lois was a secretary at the Clerk of Court and telephone operator at the 
telephone company in Covington, LA. 
Later, Lois married the late Ezra “Jake” Bernard and began her favorite role in 
life as a wife and homemaker.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, April 10, 
2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. 

Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Covington, LA.
