Edward Franklin Fortner, Sr, age 89, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Friday, 
April 14, 2017.

Beloved Husband of the late Janice Douglas Fortner.
Father of Edward F. Fortner, Jr.(Diane), Gary G. Fortner(Heidi) and Justin G. 
Fortner(Patty).
Son of the late Edward Grant Fortner and Lorraine Drury Fortner.
Brother of the late Bobbie F. Freeman.
Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Natalie, Gary, Jr., Christopher, Matthew, 2 
step grandchildren, Rob, Kim and 20 great grandchildren.

A native of Gulport, MS.  He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.

He was a member of the Seafarers International Union and sailed for
over 30 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral
Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN 
CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Monday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.

Donations to Notre Dame Hospice or the Hospice of your choice, preferred,
in lieu of flowers.
