Maricelli, age 89,a resident of the Lee Road Community received his angel wings at 5:32 PM Thursday April 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church International for 60 years and liked to focus his attention on the mission field and also mentoring young families and new Christians. Donald greatly believed in the power of prayer and he did just that on behalf of his family, church and those in need. He and his wife were instrumental in the planting and building of a new church in Argentina and would often employ people around the house just for the opportunity to witness to them. He enjoyed playing card games and dominoes with his family and friends. According to his family, his life revolved around reading God’s Word, visiting and working alongside his church family and spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He liked to spend summers at the UPCI Campground in Tioga, LA where he served in roles such as prayer chaplain, professional volleyball scorekeeper and everything in between. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. Born, Saturday, March 17, 1928 in Campti, LA to Joseph Alphonse and Mary Katherine Osborne Maricelli. Survived by his Sons and their spouses - Rev. Rick Maricelli (Donna), James Maricelli (Rhonda), all of the Lee Road Community, Daughter Mary Phelps, of Omaha, NE, Daughters and their spouses - Donna Newman (Glynn), of Franklinton, LA, and Felecia Nicholson (Phillip), of the Lee Road Community, 10 Grandchildren and their spouses and 17 GreatGrandchildren. He was predeceased by his Wife of 62 years - Dorothy Faye Yates Maricelli, his parents and Sisters – Sadie Mae Maricelli, Mary Katherine Maricelli Harkins, JoAnn Maricelli Cannon Glass and Iva Joy Maricelli Custis. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at The Pentecostals of Lee Road Community, 17700 Hwy 40 Covington, LA 70435. Visitation on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the church and on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 9:00 AM to service time.
