Surrounded by family and love she passed at Lafayette General Medical Center, where she received exceptional care. She was a lifelong resident and native of the town of Abita Springs. Frances was very involved in her community, serving as an educator, librarian at the Abita Springs branch for 10 years, and as an active and dedicated member to her church. As a founding member of Tammany Hills Baptist Church, her relationship with God was a driving force behind her accomplishments as the Director of the Women’s Missionary Union, being a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years, filling the role as lead Alto in the Church choir, and organizing and teaching many Vacation Bible Schools and other events. Perhaps above all her accomplishments, the one she took the most pride in was being a homemaker. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother. She loved family gatherings, and always had a wonderful meal ready for whoever came through her door. The scent of her beautiful garden intertwined with the hearty aroma of pot roast will always be the smell of “Nana’s” house. When she rested, and it wasn’t often, you could find her reading one of her many Mystery books, particularly Agatha Christie, playing her first generation Gameboy, watching game shows, or reviewing her never-ending prayer list while sending positivity into the world. She crocheted, sewed, embroidered, and created many beautiful works of love. She is survived by her children: Christine McIntyre, Glenda McIntyre Flot (Husband Coleman), Vincent McIntyre (Wife Suzette LeGrand), Charlette McIntyre Flott (Husband Roger), Sister Mary Moore Lundberg; Grandchildren Deanna McIntyre O’Berry (husband Charles Alan), Amanda Barrio (husband Charles), Aspen Luc, Arianne Hughes, William “Billy” Hughes, Catherine Whitacre (Husband Victor), Beverly Sanders (Husband Sean), Cara Flott and Justin Flott; Great- Grandchildren Johnathan Schimke (wife Meghan), Caleb Schimke, Rowan Schimke, Emaleth O’Berry, Graci Barrio, Tyler Barrio, Kayla Revere, Melody Revere, Faith Johnson, Crystal Johnson, Cyrus Binnings, Jakob Binnings, Bella Snowden, Steve McIntyre, Alvin Blow, Zoë Jenkins; and Great-Great-Grandson, Alexander LeBlanc. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Patrick and Ellen “Helen” Elaine Moore; husband of 45 years, Louis “Cooney” McIntyre; Brothers John Steven and Harvey Ellis Moore, Sister-in-law Ethel McIntyre Clarain, and Son-in-law Lawrence Coleman Flot III. Those upholding the Honor of Pall Bearing will be: William “Billy” Hughes, Johnathan Schimke, Justin Flott, Caleb Schimke, Tyler Barrio, and Steve McIntyre. Honorary pallbearers will be her son, Vincent McIntyre and her son-in-law, Roger Flott. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. A wake is scheduled to take place Friday, May 5, 2017 from 6-9:00 PM with visiting hours on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment at the Abita Springs Cemetery will immediately follow services. The family of Frances McIntyre would like to thank the staff of Lafayette General Medical Center ICU for not only her care, but going above and beyond to care for everyone involved. We would also like to thank Kenneth Pellerin of Evangeline Funeral Home for assisting us in bringing our Grandmother home. ===================
